The Details

Mounting

I can offer two different mounting styles . Below you will see what the differences are and how you go about putting them up, to help decide which version you would like to go for. You will be sent a copy of this in your parcel so you don’t need to remember!

Wall Mounted

Wall mounted signs look like they are floating from the wall. This version requires you to drill holes in the wall for the wire to slot into. I leave a bit of wire at the ends, which are then bent back at a 90°, for you to slot into the holes.

Please Note

If you would like to order in this style, you must get in contact beforehand.

Mounting Instructions

First things first –  Before you start making any holes in the wall, lay the whole piece out on the floor to ensure you like how it will look. If you have a larger piece you may want to trace around the words on paper and hold them up to the wall to get a better idea.

Measuring up –  Once you are happy with how it will look, hold each piece up to the wall and mark with a pencil where the ‘arms’ bend back at 90°. Using a 2mm drill bit make shallow holes where you have marked.

Secure –  Slot each piece of the sign in to the drilled holes. If they feel a little loose pop a bit of glue on the end of the ‘arms’ to secure.

Stand back – take a look at your handy work and give yourself a pat on the back. Then take a picture and send it over so I can see it up!

Hung up

If you aren’t so good at the DIY, like to change where you have your artwork up or are renting this is the perfect option for you.

Mounting Instructions

Step one –  Hold your piece up to the wall and decide where you want to put it. If you have a larger piece you may want to trace around the words on paper and hold them up to the wall to get a better idea.

Practice – Using either a nail or command hook, practice hanging the piece on it. You may need to tweak where you put the support to ensure it is level. For longer pieces you may need to use more than one nail or command hook to ensure it stays level when up.

Mark it up –  once you have figured where the nail/ command hook needs to go, hold the piece up the wall and mark up where you will put it with a pencil.

Put it up – If you are using a nail, tap it in. For command hooks follow the instructions on the back of the packet.

Stand back – take a look at your handy work and give yourself a pat on the back. Then take a picture and send it over so I can see it up!

Cake Toppers

Every care is taken when creating your cake toppers, however the wire used is not food grade. Included in your order will be some paper straws. Simply insert the legs of the cake topper into the straws before putting into the cake.
